3 of The Greatest Dessert Mash-ups That are Easy to Make
In the Bay Area, fusion food is a big thing. There’s sushi burritos, ramen hamburgers, and Indian pizza. It makes sense, in the Bay Area we have phones that are computers, and cars that run on batteries – our food should follow suit!
But while most of us are drooling over Bao Burgers and tacos filled with Kung Pao chicken, it’s important that we don’t forget the most important part of any meal…dessert!
You may have pushed the limits of your food budget by going out to eat every night this week, but that’s okay; we found 3 of the best desserts you can make at home and enjoy at your leisure after you’re done with the slice of Thai fusion pizza. Check it out.
Carrot Cake Cheesecake Cake
I have two major weaknesses when it comes to dessert: Carrot Cake and Cheesecake. The brilliant mind who decided that these two cakes could be combined is my new hero. Now, if only I could get them to pay for my new wardrobe after I can’t fit into my jeans!
But seriously, this confection is AMAZING. It’s three layers high, two layers of homemade carrot cake surrounding a middle layer of cheesecake – topped with a cream cheese frosting and accented with walnuts…you have to be kidding me with the deliciousness! Not only that, but you can cook up this bad boy at home, leave it to cool while you head out for dinner, and them come home and chow down (again).
Blueberry Doughnut Muffins
Doughnuts are one of those magical things that I can’t stay away from. I’ll eat them for breakfast, and if any are leftover, I’ll have one for dessert. When I feel like I should cut back, I’ll stop at the coffee shop and get a (healthy?) blueberry muffin – also my favorite!
But these guys must know my plot, and they’re out to foil it! Behold, the Blueberry and Doughnut muffin! GAH! I made these, and I cant…stop…nibbling! (by nibbling I mean stuffing my face, and by ‘eating healthy’ I mean that I understand if I don’t eat I’ll probably pass out…or something!)

Cookies and Cream Cheesecakes
The best is always saved for last! If you love Oreos (who doesn’t!) and cheesecake (really now, who doesn’t?!) this dessert is the ULTIMATE MASH UP! It’s Oreos, and a cheesecake filled with more Oreos, baked in a cupcake tin, and topped with another Oreo, making the ultimate, portable treat. I can’t even with the amount of delicious this dessert provides. If you think you can even, go here and get the recipe!
