The Best Chicken Drumsticks Recipe to Spread Cheer this Holiday
While everyone else is spending hours on their holiday party dishes, you’ll be grinning ear-to-ear when you bring along the best chicken drumsticks that took you no time at all! I mean, let’s face it: No matter what holidays you celebrate during the winter months, there is one thing that can be certain for everyone this season …We will most certainly need to make food.
Oh, yes, we will. It might be turkey and stuffing; it might be pancakes, pastries or breads. Whatever you’re filling up on this holiday you can bet there will be a lot of options and a lot of deliciousness. For those who are attending work parties, potlucks and other events that require you to bring something, I’ve got a quick recipe that is sure to please.
It’s a chicken drumstick recipe, and it took me all of 10 minutes to prepare. The drumsticks then went in the oven for an hour, which gave me a lot of time to put together some holiday cards and clean up the dishes. I love when the bake time takes a little while, because then I have extra time to get other things done.
Wrap gifts! Make a side salad! Decorate the tree! There are lots of things you can do while you wait for these delicious chicken drumsticks. They’re a fan favorite because they’re super crispy, and because they’re a dry rub there you avoid all of the saucy mess. These chicken drumsticks are full of flavor, and perfect with a light ranch dressing.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 3 lbs. of thawed chicken drumsticks (approx. 12 drumsticks)
- Cookie sheet lined with foil
- Olive oil
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. onion powder
- ½ tsp. chili flakes
- ½ tsp. paprika
- ½ tsp. dried oregano
- ½ tsp. dried thyme
- ½ tsp. pepper
How to prepare:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil.
- In a medium-sized bowl, mix together all of your spices.
- Dip each drumstick into the bowl and cover lightly in the spice mixture.
- Line on baking sheets and bake for 50 minutes to one hour.
I love this recipe because I had everything I needed already in my pantry. There was also hardly any mess, since I just had to measure out the spices and mix them in a bowl- there were hardly any dishes!
This simple recipe is easy to use when you’re short for time. Mix the spices and toss the drumsticks and you’re good to go!
If you’re not into some of the spices in the recipe, you can always use a different mixture of your own creation! Take something out or add something in …we’d suggest trying cumin or a pre-mixed rub! When it’s all said and done, toss the drumsticks in an insulted cooler bag to keep them fresh for the ride.
