The Ultimate Answer to Avoiding Customer Service Calls
No, that title is not a hoax to get you to read about my scrap booking hobby. We truly have found the ultimate answer for never having to call customer service again. And let me tell you, we’re hyped.
What is it?
GetHuman is a Boston-based startup company, whose main goal is to help individuals get the answers they want without all of the wasted time and added stress during a customer service call. The idea is that GetHuman has its own team of very patient people who are willing to do your dirty work for you- they can call companies on your behalf to get the answers you want, or the results you need. They charge anywhere between $5-$25 depending on the company, but based on reviews we’re thinking it is well worth it.
How does it work?
Imagine you’re trying to cancel your account with a phone company to go with someone new. You know they’re going to fight tooth and nail to keep you, or make it exceptionally difficult to cancel. Not to mention…you loathe talking on the telephone. That’s where GetHuman comes in.
For a small fee, you can hire someone to call in to your specific company to get the answers, fixes or upgrades you’ve been trying to get for months. You can totally avoid the awkwardness, stressfulness and annoyances of speaking with agents and instead have it done quickly for you. Or have your account completely cancelled. Whatever you need.
There are a few ways you can work with GetHuman to finally finish your long putt-off Customer Service chores:
- A) You can get them to do the work for you- the company currently has 5 experts who work the phones and get the answers you’ve been looking for.
- B) They can put together an individual guide for you to get the answers you need quickly.
- C) They can show you how to deal with the problem by sending you the most helpful phone numbers, suggest the best time to call, offer shortcuts and more.
According to GetHuman.com, they’ve worked with quite an impressive array of companies including T-Mobile, eBay, Facebook, Time Warner and Netflix. However, not all companies are thrilled about the idea. It has been suggested by some companies that they would rather speak to their customers directly, instead of learning about customer problems through a middle man.
And while that does make sense, it is hard to feel like customer service agents really have that much passion to hear from us on a regular basis about our problems.
For those companies that offer 24/7 online help, this is certainly a more attractive option for customers, but for those companies that do not offer online help a middle man may be the only answer for some. GetHuman is now available in the App Store at “GetHuman”, and it is a free application.
So what do you think? Would you spend your weeks’ worth of coffee to have a startup take care of your customer service needs? Personally, if a company didn’t offer online customer service I would certainly make the investment just to get it done quickly and without stress. That elevator music is the thing nightmares are made of.
